'Greetings from Krampus' lino print

The Christmas devil, Krampus was created as a counterpart to kindly St. Nicholas, who rewarded children with sweets. Krampus, in contrast, would swat "wicked" children with bundles of birch branches and take them away to his lair. Krampus cards, carrying phrases such as "Gruss Vom Krampus" (Greetings from Krampus) were extremely popular in Germany from the turn of the 20th century.

Two colour reduction lino print on thick A5 size handmade 300gsm paper. Edition of 25. Image may vary slightly from the picture shown, as each will have its own individual imperfections from the hand-pressed printing method.
